When to Repair Your Hot Tub

The Summer is here! That means you're going to be spending more time in your hot tub looking out at the stars with a cool drink in your hand. Sometimes though, hot tubs can be as hard to maintain as pools! Do you know when it's time to get your hot tub serviced by The Pool Guy? Here are some signs to look for!

Algae Buildups

One easy sign that it's time to get your hot tub serviced is algae buildup. There could be a couple reasons why this is happening. First, your hot tub may not be filtering and cycling water properly. On the other hand, you may just need to switch up some chemicals and help kill the algae. If you notice green water, this is a sure sign of algae buildups.

Low Water Temperature

When you take off the cover on a cool night with a breeze only to step into cold or lukewarm water, it can be a real downer! If you notice that your hot tub isn't heating properly or losing heat when you're in the tub, this could be a sign of a heater gone bad. Don't try to change it yourself! This could lead to a safety hazard, make sure to reach out to a pro like the Pool Guy for a quick fix!

Broken Jets, Low Pressure

The whole reason of having a hot tub is the sweet, relaxing jets! You need these jets to help relieve pressure off of your muscles! Don't settle for low jet pressure. This could be happening for a variety of reasons, so we don't recommend a self-repair here. It could leave you with a bigger mess than when you started

Cloudy or Foamy Water

While dark water usually points to algae, cloudy or foamy water usually points towards an imbalance of chemicals! This is one of the more benevolent and easy repairs. Don't take this lightly, however, chemical imbalances can impact your skin and health! Too many chemicals will agitate your skin and eyes, not enough will leave the possibility of bacteria buildups!

If you notice any of these issues with your hot tub, or any other we didn't mention, make sure to reach out to a trained professional. Sometimes, however, retailers may push you to overpay or purchase a new tub. Not The Pool Guy! Our experienced, understanding experts will have your tub up and running in no time!
